Daniel Behan is a middle school teacher who lives and works in Rochester, New York. He says that one of the many things he appreciates most about teaching also includes having the summers off to shift focus, catch up on reading, and, believe it or not, come up with more creative lesson plans, class projects, and essays.. “In the same way that diligent students have earned the summer break, the most dedicated teachers need the time to refuel.” He works a second job during the summer months to supplement his teaching salary, teaching American History at the local Community College two nights a week. He also coaches two summer league lacrosse teams, one for girls, ages 13-16, and another for boys, ages 9-12.
